Closing Day: You’re Almost There

You’ve made it to the final step—congrats are just around the corner! Here’s what to expect as you wrap things up.

Final Walk-Through

Buyers will do a final walk-through one day before or the day of closing to confirm everything is in working order as they last saw it. It’s more of a formality, but still important.

Cancel Utilities & Services

Once we let you know we’re clear to close, go ahead and call your utility providers to let them know you’re moving. It’s helpful to schedule a shutoff for the day after closing, so there’s no disruption for the new owners. The buyers will contact the providers to transfer service into their name.

Expect the Unexpected

If anything pops up—like a repair issue or a loan delay—don’t panic. SOHO Partners will be by your side through the final details, helping solve problems quickly and keeping the process on track.

The Closing Appointment

The closing agent will provide a settlement statement three business days before closing. This document outlines all the financial details of the sale. We will review it with you to make sure everything is correct.

At closing, all parties will sign the final paperwork, and funds will be disbursed. You can choose to receive your proceeds by wire transfer or check. Be sure to bring all keys, garage remotes, and anything pertaining to the house. Once the papers are signed, that’s it—you’ve officially closed this chapter!
